The Chicago Blackhawks have called a news conference for Tuesday, at which time they will name Dale Tallon as the team's new general manager.
Bob Pulford, a senior vice-president with the Blackhawks, has also been acting as the team's GM ever since the Blackhawks fired Mike Smith in October of 2003.
Tallon has been the assistant general manager for the Blackhawks since November 5, 2003. He's also, in previous years, been part of the Blackhawks' radio and television broadcasts as well as the team's Director of Player Personnel.
A first-round pick of the Vancouver Canucks in 1970, Tallon enjoyed a 10-year NHL career, four of which (1974-1978) were spent with the Blackhawks.
