ANAHEIM, Calif. - The Mighty Ducks of Anaheim announced Monday that the team has signed restricted free-agent defenseman Mark Popovic to a one-year contract. Per club policy, no financial terms of the deal were disclosed.

The 6-1, 207-pound Popovic played 74 games with the Cincinnati Mighty Ducks of the American Hockey League last season, recording 1-17-18 points with 47 penalty minutes (PIM). In 11 Calder Cup playoff games, the Stoney Creek, Ontario native recorded 2-3-5 points with six PIM.

Popovic, 22 (10/11/82), played in one game for the Mighty Ducks in 2003-04, making his NHL debut at Buffalo on Jan. 2, 2004. He was originally drafted by Anaheim in the second round (35th overall) of the 2001 NHL Entry Draft.
