The Florida Panthers have signed defenceman Dan Focht.
Focht, 27, has appeared in 82 career NHL games for Phoenix and Pittsburgh scoring two goals with six assists and 145 penalty minutes.
The 6-foot-6, 240-pound blueliner appeared in 26 games with the Hamilton Bulldogs of the AHL last year, recording five points and 84 penalty minutes.
He was drafted by Phoenix with their first-round choice in the 1996 NHL Entry Draft.
"Dan is a big defenseman who skates well," said Panthers GM Mike Keenan. "He adds depth to our club's already competitive blue line and we look forward to him competing for a roster spot during training camp."
