When the St. Louis Blues open their season next week in Detroit they could be missing two very important players.
According the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, centre Doug Weight and defenseman Barret Jackman are both out for seven to 14 days after suffering shoulder injuries on Tuesday.
Jackman suffered a slight separation of his left should during the Blues' 3-1 exhibition loss to the Dallas Stars after being checked.
The 24-year old Jackman is no stranger to shoulder injuries. He only played in 15 games for the Blues in 2003-04 missing most of his time to a dislocated left shoulder.
Weight "sublexed" his left shoulder during the team's morning skate.
The 34-year old Weight posted 51 assists and 65 points for the Blues in 75 games in 2003-04. He spent the lockout in Germany where he had six goals and nine assists in seven games with the Frankfurt Lions.
