The Montreal Canadiens announced Wednesday that the team has assigned goaltender Yann Danis to the Hamilton Bulldogs.
The move clears the way for backup netminder Cristobal Huet to return to the lineup.
Danis, 24, made his NHL debut with Montreal on November 12, and earned a shutout by stopping all 32 shots he faced in a 2-0 Canadiens victory. In three games with Montreal this season, Danis has earned a record of 2-0-0-0, with a 1.50 goals-against average, and a .946 save percentage.
The native of Lafontaine, Quebec played last season with the Bulldogs, posting a record of 28 wins, 17 losses, and six shootout losses, with a 2.34 goals-against average, and a 0.924 save percentage. Danis made his AHL debut on March 28, 2003, and posted a shutout, making 22 saves as the Bulldogs defeated the Toronto Roadrunners 3-0.
