DALLAS (AP) - Dallas Stars goaltender Marty Turco was out for Wednesday's game against Atlanta because of a lower body injury.
Turco missed practice Tuesday while getting treatment, then didn't take part in the Stars' morning skate before the game. Coach Dave Tippett said Turco might return to practice Thursday.
"Marty's a got a bit of a sore, don't know what it is, groin, hamstring, something," Tippett said. "It's just a little tender, and we decided to give him a night off. .. It's more precautionary than anything."
Turco, a two-time all-star and a member of the Canadian Olympic team, is 22-12 with a 2.52 goals-against average. Tippett said Turco was sore after a 4-2 loss at Montreal on Monday night.
Johan Hedberg was to replace Turco against Atlanta. Mike Smith was recalled from the Iowa Stars to back up Hedberg.
