BOSTON - Miroslav Satan and Jon Sim scored in the final 5:51, lifting the New York Islanders to a 4-2 victory over the Boston Bruins on Sunday in the pre-season finale for both teams.

The Bruins took a 1-0 lead when, with the teams playing 4-on-4, Dave Krejci made a nifty move in the New York zone and beat Islanders goalie Rick DiPietro at 5:09 of the first period. The Islanders tied it at 17:53 when Satan cashed in on a Boston giveaway to beat Manny Fernandez.

Glen Murray took a pass from Mark Savard and scored his second pre-season goal just 1:14 into the second period, but New York tied it again at 6:51 on the third goal of the pre-season by Mike Comrie.

Satan converted a power-play rebound with the Islanders owning a 4-on-3 advantage with 5:51 remaining. Sim then put one over Fernandez's shoulder with 1:22 remaining to seal the victory.

The Bruins finished the pre-season 1-4-1, playing all but one game without captain Zdeno Chara, who has been practising but not dressing for games because of a shoulder ailment.

The Islanders finished the pre-season at 3-4-2, playing the last three games without coach Ted Nolan, who was away from the teamn due to the death of his brother. He was scheduled to return Monday.

Both teams will open the regular season on the road Friday. The Islanders will visit Buffalo and the Bruins are set to start a five-game western road trip at Dallas.
