Coyotes acquire McGrattan from Senators

The Phoenix Coyotes have acquired forward Brian McGrattan from the Ottawa Senators for a a fifth-round pick in 2009.

The Coyotes also tendered McGrattan a one-year, $605,000 qualifying offer before the NHL's 5pm et deadline in order to retain his rights. He is set to become a restricted free agent on July 1.

The 26-year-old has played parts of the past three seasons with the Senators, scoring 10 points and 287 penalty minutes in 143 games.

McGrattan was the Los Angeles Kings' fourth-round pick (No. 104 overall) in 1999.
