The Tampa Bay Lightning have signed forward David Koci to a one-year contract.

The contract is a two-way deal which will see him earn $525,000 in the NHL and $100,000 in the minors.

Koci spent last season splitting time with the Chicago Blackhawks and the Norfolk Admirals and Rockford IceHogs of the AHL. He played 18 games in the NHL without a point and collected 68 penalty minutes.

Koci was a 5th round (146th overall) draft pick of the Pittsburgh Penguins in 2000. He spent the next four seasons with the Wilkes-Barre Scranton Penguins of the AHL before signing as an unrestricted free agent with the Blackhawks.
