Islanders add free agent Streit to blueline

Swiss defenceman Mark Streit has signed a five-year, $20.5 million contract with the New York Islanders.

Streit, 30, had a career year in his third NHL season, scoring 13 goals and 62 points in 81 games with the Montreal Canadiens.

A ninth-round pick by the Habs in 2004, the former National Team captain has 25 goals and 109 points in 205 career games.
