Report: Maple Leafs sign D Boumedienne to 1-year deal

According to a report in Swedish newspaper Aftonbladet, the Toronto Maple Leafs have signed defenceman Josef Boumedienne to a one-year, two way contract.

The 30-year old journeyman played 52 games last season for the Hershey Bears of the AHL, scoring seven goals and adding 35 assists.

In 47 career games split between the Devils, Lightning and Captials,  the Stockholm native has four goals and 12 assists.  He has not played in the NHL since the 2003-04 season.
