RALEIGH, N.C. - Justin Williams has suffered another major setback.

The Carolina Hurricanes winger tore his right Achilles tendon on Wednesday morning and will miss the next four to six months.

He'll undergo surgery later this week.

Williams missed 43 games last season after tearing his anterior cruciate ligament on Dec. 20.

The 26-year-old has amassed 306 (121-185) points in 459 games for the Hurricanes and Philadelphia Flyers.

He was a key contributor during Carolina's Stanley Cup win in 2006 and signed a five-year contract with the team that summer.
