According to the San Jose Mercury News, Luc Robitaille has filed a lawsuit against former Nashville Predators minority owner William (Boots) Del Biaggio, claiming he was defrauded of $2 million.
Robitaille claims he was duped into co-signing a line of credit with Del Biaggio, which was maxed out and misused without Robitaille's knowledge. The future Hall of Famer alleges Del Biaggio put the money into his own account to finance his ''extravagant lifestyle.''
Robitaille feels he should be relieved of his part of the defaulted loan because he didn't receive any benefit from it.
The report indicates Robitaille and Del Biaggio were involved in several business ventures, including a minor-league hockey team in Nebraska as well as an oil exploration company in Canada.
Monday's action is part of the bankruptcy proceedings of Del Biaggio, who is currently under investigation for allegedly using phony collateral to buy into the Predators. None of the accusations have been proven in court.
