The Columbus Blue Jackets have assigned five players, including first round draft pick Nikita Filatov to the Syracuse Crunch, the club's American Hockey League affiliate.
Forwards Derek Dorsett, Nikita Filatov, Craig MacDonald and Derek MacKenzie along with defenceman Aaron Rome were also sent down to Syracuse.
Filatov is also eligible to play for the Sudbury Wolves of the Ontario Hockey League but the transfer paperwork required by the Canadian Hockey League has not yet been processed by the Russian Federation.
In another move, left wing Raffi Torres was placed on injured reserve retroactive to September 29.
