NHL Senior Executive Vice President and Director of Hockey Operations Colin Campbell will review Saturday night's Tom Kostopoulos hit on Toronto's Mike Van Ryn, however a hearing has not yet been scheduled for the Montreal Canadiens' forward.

Van Ryn suffered a concussion, a gash on his forehead, a broken nose and a broken bone in his hand and early reports state he could be gone for a month.

Kostopoulos was ejected from the game with a major penalty for boarding.

Determining if supplemental discipline is required will include Hockey Operations dealing with a couple of key questions.

Did Van Ryn put himself in a vulnerable position?

Did Kostopoulos have sufficient time to 'let up'?

The significance of Van Ryn's injuries will also be taken into consideration.

Van Ryn's teammates rallied to his defense after Toronto's 6-3 win.

"It was a dirty hit," Leafs forward Matt Stajan told reporters following the game.  "It's something that can't happen in the game. Luckily, we made them pay."
