Nash, Rafalski and Ward named NHL stars of week

NEW YORK - Columbus Blue Jackets left-winger Rick Nash was named NHL first star of the week Monday.

He led all NHL scorers with nine points (2-7) as the Blue Jackets won three of four road games last week.

Nash had one goal and one assist in a 2-0 victory over Los Angeles on Dec. 29 and notched one assist in a 2-0 win over Anaheim on New Year's Eve. He posted a season-high four points (1-3) in a 6-1 win over Colorado last Friday and had two assists in a 5-2 loss to St. Louis a night later.

Detroit Red Wings defenceman Brian Rafalski was named second star and Carolina Hurricanes goaltender Cam Ward was the third star.

Rafalski had six points (1-5) in three games while Ward posted a 3-0-0 record with a 1.33 goals-against average and .944 save percentage last week.
