NEW YORK - Sheldon Souray of the Edmonton Oilers, Jarome Iginla of the Calgary Flames and Roberto Luongo of the Vancouver Canucks were among 15 players added to the NHL's Western Conference all-star team Wednesday.

The 57th all-star game is scheduled to be played Jan. 25 at the Bell Centre in Montreal.

The league also added two players each from the West's top two clubs - centre Joe Thornton and defenceman Dan Boyle of the San Jose Sharks and centre Pavel Datsyuk and defenceman Nik Lidstrom from the Detroit Red Wings.

First-time appearances will be made by Boyle, goaltender Niklas Backstrom of the Minnesota Wild, defenceman Shea Weber of the Nashville Predators and left-winger Dustin Brown of the Los Angeles Kings.

Others added to the team were forwards Milan Hejduk of the Colorado Avalanche, Rick Nash of the Columbus Blue Jackets, Shane Doan of the Phoenix Coyotes and two old favourites - Mike Modano of the Dallas Stars and Keith Tkachuk of the St. Louis Blues.

All 15 Western Conference clubs are represented on the squad.

Souray, who missed most of last season with injuries after joining the Oilers from the Montreal Canadiens, will play in his third all-star game.

Iginla, who looks headed for another 100-point season with 18 goals and 28 assists, will play in his fifth, while Luongo, a Montreal native who has struggled with injuries this season, will be in his third.

Fans voted in the starting six players - goalie J.S. Giguere of the Anaheim Ducks, defencemen Brian Campbell of the Chicago Blackhawks and Scott Niedermayer of Anaheim, and forwards Patrick Kane and Jonathan Toews of Chicago and centre Ryan Getzlaf of Anaheim.

The other 15 were selected by the NHL's hockey operations department in consultation with team general managers.

Additions to the Eastern Conference team are to be announced Thursday.
