On the same day winger Steve Begin was traded, sources say Montreal Canadiens defenceman Mathieu Dandenault may be the next to go.

The 33-year-old has politely informed Canadiens general manager Bob Gainey he would like to be moved and according to source, Gainey has agreed to help him out.

Dandenault is in the final year of a three year contract that pays him $1.75 million per season  and depending on the return, moving him could help Montreal create cap space for any additional trades made up to the March 4th trade deadline.
