The Anaheim Ducks made a pair of trades just prior to the NHL's Trade Deadline sending forward Samuel Pahlsson, defenceman Logan Stephenson and a conditional pick in the 2009 draft to the Chicago Blackhawks for defenceman James Wisniewski and forward Petri Kontiola.

The Ducks then shipped forward Travis Moen and defenceman Kent Huskins to the San Jose Sharks for prospect Nick Bonino and goalie Timo Pielmeier and a conditional draft pick.

''These two players understand that the team comes first,'' Sharks vice president and general manager Doug Wilson said. ''They have both won a Stanley Cup and will be great additions to our club.''

The 31-year old Pahlsson was a big part of the Ducks Stanley Cup champion team of 2007, centering one of the top shut-down lines in the league with Moen and Rob Niedermeyer.  He is currently on injured reserve recovering from an abdominal strain and a viral infection.  He is set to become an unrestricted free agent on July 1st.

In 52 games this season, Pahlsson has five goals and 10 assists.

The 25-year old Wisniewski has found himself the odd-man out of a very talented Blackhawks blue line.  After undergoing knee surgery prior to the start of the season, the Canton, Michigan native has two goals and 11 assists in 31 games.

Meanwhile, the 25-year old Moen has four goals and seven assists in 63 games with the Ducks.

The 29-year old Huskins has two goals and four assists in 33 games this season.

Both players are set to become an unrestricted free agents on July 1st.
