The Philadelphia Flyers have acquired defenceman Kyle McLaren from the San Jose Sharks for a sixth-round pick in 2009.
McLaren, 31, is a first round draft pick (9th overall) by the Boston Bruins in 1995. The Humboldt, Saskatchewan, native spent seven seasons in Bean Town before being part of a three-way trade involving Boston, Montreal and San Jose in 2003, McLaren heading to the Sharks.
The Flyers also added tough guy Daniel Carcillo in a deal with the Phoenix Coyotes.
"We weren't really pushing to make any big deals because at the end of the day we like our team," Flyers general manager Paul Holmgren told the Canadian Press.
In 719 games in the NHL, McLaren has amassed 46 goals and 161 assists with a plus- 27 rating.
