Every week, the NHL on TSN panel voices their opinions on the hot topics of the day in the Wednesday Night Hockey Quiz.

TSN.ca offers you the opportunity to chime in on the big issues with the Insiders. Read the questions and answers from TSN's hockey experts and give us your thoughts in the Your Call feature.

Question No. 1: Who did the best job of improving his team over the trade deadline period?

Pierre McGuire:  Darryl Sutter of the Calgary Flames did the best job because he gave his team a very real chance to win the Stanley Cup, or at least legitimately compete for it.  When you think about Olli Jokinen, you're getting a big body presence down the middle that can put up points.  The Flames also got a top puck-moving defenceman in Jordan Leopold who is comfortable in that situation.

Bob McKenzie:  I'll say Ottawa Senators general manager Bryan Murray.  When it's all said and done, most teams are tweaking, adding this or that.  If the Senators got the right guy, they got a true number one goaltender in Pascal Leclaire.

Darren Dreger: Darryl Sutter.  As Pierre mentioned, he identified his needs.  He needed some depth on the blueline, and he got that in Leopold.  He also added power up front in Jokinen, who will augment the player that Sutter has on the wing of his top line, Jarome Iginla.

Question No. 2:  Who has the best chance of unseating the Red Wings as Stanley Cup Champions?

Bob McKenzie: I'm going to say the New Jersey Devils.  I liked them from the beginning of the year, and I like them even better now that Zach Parise is having an MVP-caliber season.  Patrik Elias is back, and it doesn't get much better than the way that Martin Brodeur has come back from his biceps tendon surgery.

Darren Dreger:  The Calgary Flames.  They will beat the Red Wings in the Western Conference, so Detroit won't make it to the final.

Pierre McGuire: I think it's the Devils for what Bob said, and for the fact they probably have the best coach in the NHL right now.  Parise is ripping it up, and he should have been an Islander. That will continue to haunt New York for a long, long time. The Devils will give the Red Wings the toughest time.

Question No. 3:  Other than Olli Jokinen, which free agent will have the biggest short-term impact with his new club?

Bob McKenzie: I'll go with Mark Recchi, now of the Boston Bruins.  He's been there and done this many times before.  He knows what it's like to go to a contending team and provide some short-term impact, especially of the offensive variety coming off that five assist game.

Darren Dreger: I'm picking Patrick O'Sullivan of the Edmonton Oilers because he fits right into the model that Steve Tambellini, Kevin Lowe and Craig MacTavish are trying to establish with their youth corps.

Pierre McGuire: Sami Pahlsson because he's a Stanley Cup winner and he knows how to check.  He'll bring some leadership to the Blackhawks, and if he can get over his mono, and I believe that he can, he'll be a huge impact player.

Question No. 4:  What is the story of the NHL Trade Deadline day?

Pierre McGuire: Jay Bouwmeester not being traded out of Florida is a gigantic thing for the Panthers and their fan base.  It also sends a message out to the rest of the league that Florida is playing for keeps.

Bob McKenzie: I'll say deflation.  The number of high draft picks, the quantity of picks and the quality of the prospects simply wasn't as great this year.  Everybody is worried about the economic crisis and it filters down to that level.

Darren Dreger: Two Canadian teams, the Vancouver Canucks and Montreal Canadiens did nothing while the teams around them improved.
