The Carolina Hurricanes have re-signed veteran winger Erik Cole to a two-year deal worth $5.8-million.
Cole, 30, struggled early in the season after getting traded to Edmonton, then rebounded late last season, scoring 15 points in 17 games after returning to the Hurricanes, giving him a total of 42 points and an even rating in 80 games.
"Erik clearly had an instant impact on our team when he returned to Carolina in March," said Hurricanes GM Jim Rutherford. "He has been an important piece for our franchise for a long time and we are pleased that he has decided to remain at home in Raleigh."
In 498 career games, Cole has 147 goals and 175 assists for 322 points.
