Arlington, VA (Sports Network) - The Washington Capitals agreed to terms with veteran forward Boyd Gordon on a one-year deal on Monday. Financial details were not disclosed
The 25-year-old, who plays the center and right wing positions, tallied five goals and nine assists in 63 regular season contests in the 2008-09 campaign. He registered three helpers in 14 playoff games.
Primarily known for his face-off skills, Gordon was third on the Caps with a 56.1 percent faceoff efficiency in the regular season and led the club at 63.3 percent in the playoffs.
The 17th overall draft pick in the 2002 NHL Entry Draft has 20 goals and 46 assists in 267 games, spanning five seasons with Washington.
