Just days after adding Mathieu Schneider, Christian Ehrhoff, and Brad Lukowich to their blue line, the Vancouver Canucks locked up another rearguard by re-signing Nathan McIver.

The 24-year old came over from the Anaheim Ducks in exchange for Mike Brown on Feb. 4, and spent the remainder of the season with the AHL's Manitoba Moose. In 18 NHL games last season with the Ducks, McIver had one assist and 36 penalty minutes. He had two assists in 28 games with Manitoba.

McIver was originally an eighth round pick of the Canucks in the 2003 draft.
