After finally getting rid of one disgruntled forward, it appears as though it is déjà vu in the Nation's capital as prospect Ilya Zubov has requested a trade from the Senators.
The Ottawa Citizen is reporting that the Russian born Zubov was unhappy with his demotion to Binghamton of the AHL and spoke to Senators' management about making a move.
"I'm not very happy about it. It's not what I want. Both me and the Ottawa team (talked) and I might get traded soon," Zubov told Binghamton television station Fox 40.
Zubov's situation is similar to the one the Senators faced last year as fellow Russian prospect Alexander Nikulin demanded a trade after being unable to crack the Sens roster. Nikulin was eventually dealt to the Phoenix Coyotes, however he did not last and is now playing for CSKA Moscow of the KHL.
