Former NHL Players' Association executive director Paul Kelly has commended the Association for the formation of a review committee to investigate the internal operations of the Union, but still believes there is more work to be done.

"I applaud the players for taking this initial, but important step.  I welcome a complete review of what transpired at the NHLPA and the reasons behind it." Kelly told TSN.

During a three and a half hour conference call on Sunday, the PA voted 19-3 in favor of an official review of the Players Association with NHL veterans Rob Blake, Nicklas Lidstrom, Mark Recchi and Chris Chelios appointed to a committee to spearhead the review.

22 teams participated in the call while the remaining eight teams have 72 hours to vote, with only one vote needed to pass the motion.
