The Los Angeles Kings locked up a pair of young players on Friday by signing goalie Jonathan Quick and defenceman Davis Drewiske to three-year contracts.

Terms were not announced by the team, but the Canadian Press reported that Quick's deal is worth a total of $5.4 million.

Quick, 23, has performed very well for a Kings team that has exceeded expectations early this season. The native of Milford, Connecticut is tied for second in the league with six wins, and sports a 3.01 goals against average. He attended the U.S. Olympic orientation camp this summer, and has established himself as L.A.'s starter since the middle of last season. The Kings have opened the current campaign with a 6-4-0 record, and they sit sixth in the Western Conference. Quick has started nine of L.A.'s 10 games so far, and was the second of the NHL's three stars last week after going 3-0-0.

Drewiske, 24, is playing his second season on the Los Angeles blueline. He has one goal, two assists, and a team-best plus-6 rating this year. The native of Hudson, Wisconsin played the majority of last season with Manchester of the AHL, and appeared in 17 games for the Kings.

Quick was the Kings' third-round pick in the 2005 draft. Drewiske signed with the team as an undrafted free agent in April, 2008.
