Ottawa Senators forward Shean Donovan suffered a right knee injury in Thursday's 6-2 win over the Pittsburgh Penguins and will be sidelined for up eight weeks, if not longer.
Donovan underwent tests on Saturday which reviled medial collateral ligament (MCL), and possibly anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) damage, but surgery is not expected.
The Timmins, Ont., native has one goal and two assists in 12 games played this season.
