According to a report on NESN.com, Bruins' goaltender Tim Thomas may have a broken hand.
The reigning Vezina trophy winner has not made a start in net for the Bruins since November 14th, but has served as backup for rookie Tuukka Rask. The team does not believe that the injury is too serious; however they are taking a cautious approach.
"It's one of those injuries that we have to allow him to get better," coach Claude Julien told The Boston Globe on Tuesday. "Yet it could be something that could be cured on a day-to-day basis."
Thomas reportedly took some extra practice Wednesday morning following the Bruins' morning skate with Vladimir Sobotka and Johnny Boychuk.
Rask is expected to make his fifth straight start tonight when the Bruins face the Wild.
