Newark, NJ (Sports Network) - New Jersey Devils right wing David Clarkson will miss the next 4-to-6 weeks with a non-displaced fracture of the bone above his right ankle, the club announced Saturday.

The injury occurred when Clarkson blocked a shot from towering Boston captain Zdeno Chara in the first period of Friday's road win. Although surgery was not needed, Clarkson did receive stitches to repair a laceration and stayed overnight in a Boston hospital.

In 23 games this season, Clarkson has registered seven goals and eight assists.
