Iginla, Thornton, Gaborik named three stars for November

NEW YORK -- Calgary Flames right-winger Jarome Iginla was named NHL first star of the month Tuesday after recording 20 points in 14 games.

San Jose Sharks centre Joe Thornton was named second star and New York Rangers right-winger Marian Gaborik was named third star.

Iginla recorded goals in nine of 14 games in November. He had three game-winning goals and finished the month with 13 goals and seven assists.

Thornton also had 20 points (4-16) in 14 games to help the Sharks post a 9-2-3 record and end the month first in the overall standings.

Gaborik had 19 points (11-8) in 13 games. He became the first player to reach the 20-goal mark this season.
