Washington, DC (Sports Network) - The Washington Capitals signed right wing Alexander Semin to a one-year contract extension on Saturday. Sources tell TSN that the deal is worth $6 million.

Washington general manager George McPhee confirmed during Saturday's 4-1 win against New Jersey that the 25-year-old Semin, whose current deal was set to expire at the end of the season, agreed to the extension.

Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
