Philadelphia Flyers forward Daniel Carcillo has been fined $2,500 by the NHL for a throat-slash gesture that he made toward the Maple Leafs bench during a game against Toronto on Wednesday.

Carcillo has been subject to discipline by the NHL on several other occasions in the last 18 months, where he has drawn three suspensions for a total of seven games. His most recent altercation was last month, when he was suspended four games by the league for his role in a fight against Washington's Matt Bradley. Carcillo took 29 penalty minutes for what was considered to be sucker punch against Bradley and he was also assessed a game misconduct.

Carcillo's gesture on Wednesday came after he scored a goal in the second period to give Philadelphia a 3-0 lead in a game they eventually won 6-2.

The Flyers and Maple Leafs meet again in Toronto next Thursday in a game than can be seen on TSN and TSN HD at 7pm et/4pm pt.
