It appears as though Los Angeles Kings' defenceman Drew Doughty will not be heading to Germany after all.

It was thought that the 20-year old Norris Trophy nominee would join Team Canada following the Kings first round elimination at the hands of the Vancouver Canucks, however a wrist injury means that the blueliner will not be able to represent Canada for the second straight year.

Doughty told USA Today that he “messed up” his hand during Game 1 of the Kings and Canucks series but he was able to play through the pain.  He was stellar for Los Angeles in the six game series, scoring three goals and adding four assists.
