While Tampa Bay Lightning owner Jeff Vinik's search for a chief executive officer continues, the list of candidates for the vacant general managers job has dropped by one.

Sources close to the Toronto Maple Leafs tell TSN Dave Nonis, the Leafs vice president of hockey operations has pulled himself out of the running for the Lightning job.

Toronto is expected to announce Nonis has agreed to an extension with the Maple Leafs that will take him off the market through the 2011-2012 season.
