Veteran forward Doug Weight looks like he'll be returning to the New York Islanders for another year.

According to Newsday, Weight has agreed to a one-year deal with the team and the only thing holding up the official announcement of the deal is the bonus structure of the contract.

General manager Garth Snow told Newsday that the deal was "in essence, done."

Weight battled through a torn labrum and rotator cuff injuries last season, but managed to play in 36 games, recording one goal and 16 assists.

In 1,220 career NHL regular season games, the 39-year old has scored 276 goals to go along with 748 assists.
