The Nashville Predators have signed defenceman Francis Bouillon to a contract extension that will prevent the blueliner from becoming a free agent.

TSN has learned that the deal is for two years and is worth $2.7 million. Bouillon will receive $1.2 million in the first year, and $1.5 in the second.

The 34-year old had three goals and eight assists in 81 games with the Predators last season.  Bouillon was eligible to become an unrestricted free agent on July 1st.

The veteran of 10 NHL seasons was originally signed as an undrafted free agent by the Montreal Canadiens in 1998. He signed with Nashville as an unrestricted free agent prior to last season.
