With the Chicago Blackhawks experiencing salary cap issues, they may not be able to make a qualifying offer to winger Andrew Ladd and may be forced to trade him.
The Vancouver Canucks appear to be one of the teams interested in acquiring Ladd, who hails from Maple Ridge, B.C.
Ladd has had a running verbal battle with Canucks' forward Ryan Kesler over the last two years. Nevertheless, Ladd is available and the Canucks are interested.
Last season, Ladd scored 17 goals and added 21 assists for 38 points in 82 games. In the playoffs, he scored three goals and three assists for six points in 19 contests.
