The Columbus Blue Jackets have claimed veteran winger Ethan Moreau on waivers.
Moreau, 34, had nine goals, 18 points and a minus-4 rating in 76 games as the captain of the Edmonton Oilers last season.
Blue Jackets GM Scott Howson was the assistant general manager in Edmonton before landing his post and has brought several former Oilers to Ohio in recent seasons, including Raffi Torres, Jason Chimera, Michael Peca, Jan Hejda and Mathieu Roy.
Heading into the final year of a four-year, $8-million contract, Moreau will earn $1.75 million next season, at a cap hit of $2 million.
In 863 career games, Moreau has recorded 145 goals, 277 points and 1066 penalty minutes.
