Johan Hedberg has signed a one-year contract with the New Jersey Devils. The deal is worth $1.5 million including bonuses, and has a no-trade clause.
The 37-year-old Swede had spent the last four seasons with the Atlanta Thrashers.
Last season, he went 21-16-6 with a 2.62 GAA, three shutouts and a .915 save percentage. Hedberg had been sharing the starting goaltender duties in Atlanta with Ondrej Pavelec after former No. 1 Kari Lehtonen was traded to the Dallas Stars in February of 2010.
Hedberg was drafted 218th overall by the Philadelphia Flyers in the ninth round of the 1994 NHL Entry Draft.
