Pavel Kubina is going back to where his career began, as the veteran defenceman has signed a two-year, $7.7 million contract with the Tampa Bay Lightning.
Kubina, 33, played his first eight seasons with the Lightning and helped lead them to a Stanley Cup championship in 2004.
He scored six goals and 38 points last season with the Atlanta Thrashers and has 348 career points in 822 games with Atlanta, Tampa and the Toronto Maple Leafs.
