Raleigh, NC (Sports Network) - The Carolina Hurricanes signed goaltender Justin Pogge to a one-year, two-way contract on Thursday.
The 24-year old spent the 2009-10 campaign in the minors. In 27 games in the American Hockey League, Pogge went 13-7-5 with a 2.55 goals against average with San Antonio and Albany. At the East Coast Hockey League level, the netminder went 6-2 with a 2.69 GAA in nine contests with Bakersfield.
Pogge is 1-4-1 with a 4.35 GAA in seven NHL contests with Toronto.
The Canes also signed defenseman Bryan Rodney to a one-year, two-way contract.
Rodney appeared in 22 games with Carolina last season while also spending time with the AHL's Albany River Rats. While with the Hurricanes, he totaled one goal and 10 assists.
Over his two seasons in the NHL, he has played in 30 games and has a goal and 12 assists.
