Anaheim, CA (Sports Network) - The Anaheim Ducks announced on Tuesday that the club has entered into an affiliate agreement with Elmira of the ECHL.
"We are thrilled to be entering into a formal affiliation agreement with Elmira," said Anaheim general manager Bob Murray. "With ideal proximity to Syracuse and a premier facility in First Arena, Elmira will be a key partner in the development of our young players."
Elmira, located in the Southern Tier of New York, joined the ECHL for the 2007-08 season after previously playing in the now defunct UHL. The club won the East Division last season and scored a franchise-high in goals.
Earlier this off-season, the Ducks entered into an affiliate agreement with the Syracuse Crunch in the American Hockey League, Syracuse has previously served as the AHL farm team of Columbus and Vancouver.
