If it was not for bad luck, the New York Islanders would have no luck at all.

Sniper John Tavares is the latest victim of the injury bug as he suffered a concussion in the first period of Saturday's game against the Dallas Stars after he was elbowed in the head by Adam Burish.

Tavares was forced to leave the game and did not return.

The Isles have already been decimated by injuries, losing defenceman Mark Streit and forward Kyle Okposo in the pre-season.
