COLUMBUS, Ohio -- The Columbus Blue Jackets traded centre Chad Kolarik to the New York Rangers on Thursday in exchange for left-winger Dane Byers.
The Blue Jackets also placed left-winger Kristian Huselius, who has a sprained ankle, on injured reserve retroactive to Oct. 23. They added right-winger Mike Blunden to their roster on emergency recall from their American Hockey League affiliate in Springfield.
The 24-year-old Byers, a fourth-round pick in the 2004 draft, was assigned to Springfield.
Blunden had two goals and two assists in 40 games with the Blue Jackets a year ago.
