The news just keeps getting worse for the struggling Edmonton Oilers.

Already sitting in last place in the Western Conference, now goaltender Nikolai Khabibulin is headed for the injured reserve list with a groin injury.

Veteran Martin Gerber has been recalled from Oklahoma City of the American Hockey League and will team with Devan Dubnyk to form the goaltending tandem.

In 15 games this season, Khabibulin has a record of 4-10-1 with a goals-against-average of 4.07 and a save percentage of .879.

The 36-yearold Gerber has played in 13 games this season with a 9-4-0 record, 2.56 GAA, .911 save percentage and one shutout.
