Curtis Glencross of the Calgary Flames has been fined but not suspended for his cross-check to the face of Vancouver Canucks' defenceman Keith Ballard on Wednesday night.
Glencross, who received a five-minute major and a game misconduct on the play, had a disciplinary hearing with league officials on Friday.
Last month, Flames' centre Olli Jokinen was suspended for three games after a similar incident against the Phoenix Coyotes.
Last season, Glencross was suspended three games for a "high hit" against the New York Rangers, despite receiving no penalty on the play.
In 24 games this season, Glencross has seven goals and four assists for 11 points and 40 penalty minutes.
