2011 is starting on a sour note for the Edmonton Oilers.

Forward Jordan Eberle was forced to leave Saturday's game against the Calgary Flames after sustaining an injury to his left ankle.

The rookie sniper suffered the injury when his leg appeared to buckle under him after being hit by Flames forward Ales Kotalik in the second period.

The 20-year old Eberle is enjoying a solid season with nine goals and 14 assists in 36 games.
