The Edmonton Oilers are trying to arrange for an MRI to determine the extent of Jordan Eberle's ankle injury.
Because Monday is a statutory holiday, the Oilers had trouble securing the MRI exam.
The injury isn't believed to be serious, however Eberle is expected to miss the next couple of games.
"I'd hate to say how long Jordan is going to be out until we determine the results (of the MRI), but I'm sure it's going to be a bit of time," head coach Tom Renney told the Edmonton Journal on Sunday.
The rookie sniper suffered the injury Saturday against Calgary when his leg appeared to buckle under him after being hit by Flames forward Ales Kotalik in the second period.
The 20-year old Eberle is enjoying a solid season with nine goals and 14 assists in 36 games.
