Maple Leafs acquire Brunnstrom from Stars for Stefanovich

The Toronto Maple Leafs have acquired forward Fabian Brunnstrom from the Dallas Stars in exchange for forward Mikhail Stefanovich.

The 25-year-old Brunnstrom was signed by the Dallas Stars as a free agent in 2008. Since the 2008-09 season, the native of Jonstorp, Sweden, has played in 99 NHL games for Dallas collecting 40 points on 19 goals and 21 assists.

Stefanovich, 21, has played 15 games with Minsk Dynamo of the Kontinental Hockey League, recording one goal. The Minsk, Belarus native, dressed in two games for the AHL's Toronto Marlies, going scoreless.

Toronto's third round pick (98th overall) in the 2008 NHL Entry Draft, Stefanovich played three seasons for the Quebec Remparts, tallying 106 goals and 104 assists in 171 games.
